Tanner Street Gateway

Tanner Street Gateway is a dense street-based urban quarter in the Thames Gateway at Barking.

It is a collaboration between Peter Barber Architects and Jestico + Whiles Architects.

It comprises 250 dwellings. It islaid out as a network of intimately scaled streets defined by a hard edge of the buildings.

At the heart of the scheme is a delightful, new tree lined public square, where a spectacular, 10 storey landmark building marks the intersection of a number of important public routes.

The scheme was completed at the end of 2005.
