Cromwell Pod
The Cromwell Garden Annex is a spectacular new state of the art multi-purpose building running along the south edge of a newly landscaped courtyard garden to the rear of the main hostel.
The building is conceived in two parts. Steps in the garden lead down to a spectacular multipurpose hall cut into the ground. This space is approximately 10x3m and flooded with sunlight from a fully glazed walk-on roof. The walls of the rooms splay outward to frame dramatic upward views to the garden.
Lightweight steps lead from the garden up into an extraordinary bubble shaped meeting and discussion room at first floor level. This domed space has circular and oval windows framing views over the street and back into the garden.
The courtyard garden is beautifully landscaped with trees, planters, new paving and seating areas.
